Our 2023 Lyla is a wine that doesn’t back down. The tannins in the back of the palate are firm and persistent. 2023 was a cool vintage which gave us incredible hang time but we never lost the integrity of our phenolic, so these tannins are present and will keep this wine youthful for well over a decade. Plum, cherry and a hint of mocha, give it wonderful complexity. Of our 2023 wines this is the one who wants to take a nap before she comes out to play.

The 2022 Lyla showcases the classic Sugarloaf Mountain flavors and textures. Aromatically it is a combination of spring flowers and dark chocolate. With a little bit of air, it begins to showcase plum and cherry fruit flavors that linger on the palate. The textures are driven by a nice buildup of tannins on the finish.

The 2023 Janeen comes from the Sage Ridge Vineyard and showcases its typical blackberry and cherry flavors. In this vintage the acidity really shines, the energy across the palate stays with it from the second you sip it all the way through a long one minute finish. The tannins build, but never become chunky as the acid maintains control front to back. This is a wine that would pair perfectly with short ribs or your favorite hearty dish.

Our 2022 Janeen is textbook Janeen, there is a reason this wine is always a crowd pleaser, and this vintage is no exception. From the first sip, the wine has voluptuous textures that bring a smile to your face. Raspberry and blueberry flavors leap from the glass and pull you into the wine. As it opens up, it continues to put on weight and begins to show a beautiful floral aromatic quality.

This year‘s Bryn is a powerful one. It includes a slightly higher percentage of Tench Cabernet Sauvignon that gives it a strong backbone. At the winery, we worked hard to manage the tannins to make sure this wine has it's telltale supple textures. While the color is inky black, it's textures are still round and polished.

As is always the case, the Alessio 2022 shows the most complexity and depth of flavor amongst all of our cuvees. It has a base of Merlot, then there are equal parts, Cabernet franc and Cabernet Sauvignon which work to ramp up the wine's aromatics and flavors. The bouquet is a combination of dark fruits, mocha, and rich tobacco. The Cabernet Franc gives it nice weight on the back of the palate while the Merlot completes the wine by giving a beautiful roundness.

The 2021 Alessio kicks up the intensity level a notch. This wine has fabulous richness and considerably more curves than it's siblings. It starts with cherry and berry aromatics that then go to espresso bean and rich tobacco. On the palate, it lives for almost a minute. The finish is incredibly long and pushes the fruit profile even further. This wine will be approachable within two years, but will have an incredibly long life ahead of it.

While 2022 was a challenging vintage for many of the valley's vineyards, the super premium blocks at Tench that go into this wine had overhead sprinklers running nonstop to mitigate the extreme heat. The 2022 Armaan's color and concentration are supremely prevalent and it is a dark powerful wine. The nose gives us cassis and ripe plum, hints of fresh herbs and a beautiful cocoa note. While this wine will show beautifully young, it will certainly age better than most of us.

Begin by tasting the 2023 Lyla, this wine is a bordeaux style blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc from Sugarloaf Mountain as well as a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon from Tench Vineyard. Follow this with 2023 Bryn, which is another blend featuring more Tench Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Sugarloaf Mountain Merlot & Cabernet Franc. Next up is the creme de la creme of Bordeaux Blends in our portfolio, the 2023 Alessio which is equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot featuring the most qualitatively perfect fruit we have. We find that blends are a true showcase of the winemaker, this is his expression of the best iteration he could create with the grapes we harvested in 2023. Continue through your flight by tasting the 2023 Janeen. The Janeen is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Sage Ridge vineyard which is 1400 feet in elevation, adjacent to Pritchard Hill overlooking Lake Hennessey. Vibrant cassis, and blueberry notes soar from the glass, giving way to a fabulous mineral driven finish. Last but surely not least, swirl, smell and sip the Armaan. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is our Flagship wine from the valley floor, deep, dark and brooding, tasting this wine will definitely show you the essence of Oakville power and intensity. The 2023 PerUs Mauricio Cabernet Franc is a wine that speaks to its origin. Grown on rocky red soils, the wine has a natural mineral reality in salinity that makes the palate so incredibly compelling. The flavor profile is pure Cabernet Franc; red fruits, tobacco, and cedar. This is a wine that will age for well over a decade, but will provide instant gratification for those who want to enjoy it while it’s in its youthful vigorous stage.
